Take My Word For It – It’s Love. Don’t Be Blue.

This is my first Take My Word For It – It’s Love blog. I’m really excited to be in this spot in time and space to bring you the wealth of inspiration and encouragement of this material.

It’s Love began with dictionary definitions about love and romance and grew into something covering more than just the words, but also phrases and concepts that will help to encourage and guide you in this game of love and romance and our quest for the real thing.

I know how much we all need encouragement. I know how sometimes we need someone outside of us to speak into our world and offer a clear perspective on how to move forward. I know what a task it can feel like sometimes to find true love. We are going to look into ourselves and into how to change the way you may have done things in the past that hasn’t given you the result you wanted. We’ll explore how you can express love and romance in a way that makes your existing relationship a happy ever after one. So, if you are on a quest to attract and maintain the best kind of love, I hope you’ll join me to discover just how to do that.

I want to focus today on lyrics. Often with a song I love, I’ll look up the lyrics and read them like poetry. If you want to stay positive and optimistic that may rule out 70% of love songs ever written as many are truly tragic. We won’t be covering them as I know for a fact that they just make you feel worse as they focus on what you don’t want, rather than what you do.

I’d like to share with you today musings based on the colour blue. In romantic terms to feel blue is something most of us are probably familiar with but I never like to dwell too long on anything that’s not positive. That is especially bad for us if we have lost love recently. No one wants to willingly step into a downward spiral and crash and burn at the bottom of it!

Blue represents meanings of depth, trust, loyalty, sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, faith, heaven, and intelligence. The color blue has positive effects on the mind and the body.

Here’s a little poignant poem about the colour blue called Masks. It’s by Shel Silverstein

“She had blue skin,
And so did he.
He kept it hid
And so did she.
They searched for blue
Their whole life through,
Then passed right by-
And never knew.”

Well, at It’s Love, we’re not going to hide our skin – blue or not. We must all be true to ourselves in order to find our match.

I know a girl who once gave a man two beautiful rose bushes called blue moon. They were a glorious colour. The man thought they were just bushes but actually they were a tribute to him and the sentiment behind this song.

Blue Moon

You saw me standing alone

Without a dream in my heart

Without a love of my own

Blue Moon

You knew just what I was there for

You heard me saying a prayer for

Someone I really could care for

And then there suddenly appeared before me

The only one my arms will ever hold

I heard somebody whisper, “Please adore me.”

And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold, oh

Blue Moon

Now I’m no longer alone

Without a dream in my heart

Without a love of my own
