99 Day Quest Part 4 London

We are at Part 4 of our European quest to find the finest retreat venue. London.

I realise this pic has nothing to do with London but we made these baby Yoda cocktails for a garden party the day after we arrived. The menu was pea stuffed eggs, coronation chicken sandwiches, deep dish bacon and egg pie and grilled skewers of peach, halloumi, thyme, croutons and capsicum.

Sweet things involved matcha and mascarpone meringues, double cream peach melba ice cream made with oven roasted peaches and fresh raspberries, coffee yoyos and a Guinness chocolate cake. Nobody seemed to want to leave.

Flowers are about in abundance on the store fronts in London. Faux ones in Europe but real ones here – no doubt heat and rain being contributing factors. It is lovely to see such an abundance of petunias, begonias and other gorgeousness.

From a local Italian store – the cutest baby salamis, French butter, handmade fresh ravioli and a gorgeous, melting cheese. Lunchtime.

I admire macarons but often find them too sugary. This raspberry one was utterly divine – intense, gooey inside and quite perfect. I’ll take two…

Aprés dinner strolling reveals all kinds of treasures – interesting architecture, squirrels, a fox and magical lights.

No explanation required for this exterior and interior shot of this famous food store and café.

The joys and benefits of fermented veg in a health conscious café in Canterbury. Quite huge jars full of goodies.

This is pub fare these days. A burger at The Snooty Fox.

Next time, we will look at London at dusk, a fabulous Persian restaurant, and a fall-into-a-deep-swoon Mescal and Tamarind sorbet compliments of M. Alain Ducasse. Happiness reigns.
